Slept in to help recover health-wise. I’ve been feeling achy and feverish. I grabbed a quick bite to eat at the deli, and posted up in a nearby bookstore for about 90 minutes chatting at length with an incredibly helpful employee who helped me iron out all the details of yesterday’s challenge (Hunger by Knut Hamson, Beetle by Lars Saabye Christensen, and Snowman by Jo Nesbø).
I eventually made my way back to the hotel where we left as a group for interviews at a great spot overlooking the city, on a hill southeast of the Oslo Opera House (Ekebergrestauranten). I kept things abundantly positive in my interview. Obviously the prospects of me, Kels, or Richard leaving tomorrow isn’t fun, but it’s a part of the game we sign up for. I see it like I’m in Oslo and I have a 2 in 3 chance of going on a great Norwegian Adventure with a great group starting tomorrow!
We come back to our Oslo Grand Hotel (learned last night that rooms are as much as $500/night), and I decide to walk to the Opera House! It’s a beautiful spot on the water, and there’s a lot of development all around the area. I can’t wait to see what this city looks like in 5 years. Also cool to be visiting the Oslo Opera House less than 5 months after visiting the Sydney Opera House!
I make my way back to the hotel and we all go out for dinner. After dinner I’ve just been studying up on everything we’ve done this week with some help from Kate and Thomas. It’s time for bed now, I have to be well rested and have a clear mind for tomorrow. We leave the hotel at 9:30!
